Modern Energy Efficient Control Systems for Electric Motors

In industry, significant savings in electricity can be achieved where electric motors are used in different applications.  These savings are achieved by making use of modern energy efficient control systems which will decrease /increase the power used by the electrical motor as the load to the motor changes.

In addition to this, various large motor control systems can be implemented to vary the peak demand by decreasing this peak demand. The client is benefiting from not being charged a high peak demand tariff.

Examples of this are starting a motor with a slow increase in speed which leads to less mechanical stress on the motor and the driven system.

The speed of electrical motors can also be ramped down from full speed to prevent excessive mechanical stress on the motor and its drive system whether it be through a gearbox or a v-belt drive system.  All of these systems are designed around conserving energy which benefits the end user.
